Fees for 2026/27
Fees are the same for every child in the school, whatever their age. They are charged in twelve equal monthly instalments rather than three termly lumps, which most families find easier to plan around.

All figures are inclusive of VAT. Fees are reviewed each year, and you will be given reasonable notice of any change.
Brothers and sisters
The fee reduces for each child, and there is no fee at all for a fourth child or any child after that. A family with four children here pays the same as a family with three.
This is deliberate. We were founded by families who wanted a Christian education for all their children, not for whichever ones they could afford.
GCSE levy
Pupils in Year 9 and above pay an additional £35 per month. This covers examination entry fees, which are charged directly to the school by AQA and Eduqas.
We do this rather than sending families a separate invoice in Year 11, when the bill would land all at once and would be considerably larger.

What the fee covers
The fee covers your child’s education: teaching, classroom materials, and the ordinary running of the school day. The GCSE levy covers public examination entry.
What it does not cover
- Books that pupils keep, and some subject materials
- Trips and visits outside school
- Uniform and PE kit
- Residentials and optional activities
We are a packed lunch school. Lunches are brought from home, so there is no meal charge.
Paying
- Fees are paid in twelve equal monthly instalments, on the 28th of each month.
- Each payment covers the following month. The payment on 28 August covers September and secures your child’s place for the start of the year.
- Payment is by standing order, direct debit or bank transfer. We will give you the account details when you accept a place — for your security we do not publish them here.
- Fees are payable whether or not your child attends during that period.
Interest is charged on fees more than fourteen days overdue, and there are further steps beyond that. They are set out in full in the terms and conditions below. If you are having difficulty paying, talk to us before that point rather than after it — see the next section.
If the fees are a stretch
Emmanuel was started by families who could not have afforded a conventional independent school, and we have never wanted cost alone to decide who comes here. Our fees are a fraction of what most independent schools charge, and that is on purpose.
We do not have a bursary fund. What we do have is a means-tested fee reduction: where a family genuinely cannot meet the full fee, we will look at your circumstances and agree a reduced figure.
Have the conversation
If the school looks right for your child but the fees look impossible, ring and speak to the Head Teacher. It is a private conversation, it happens more often than you would think, and it will not affect how your child is treated or how their application is considered.
If your child leaves
This is the part most worth reading before you sign anything.
The school budgets and staffs on the basis that each place is filled for a full academic year. If you withdraw your child part way through the year, fees remain payable until the end of that academic year, or until we are able to fill the place — whichever comes first. We will always make reasonable efforts to fill it.
If your child attends at any point during the summer term, the full twelve months’ fees for that year remain payable whenever notice is given.
Written notice of withdrawal must go to the Head Teacher.
